The Best Special Effect

Hallo. For today we have a very interesting technique to practice. It is technique based on shapes and curves brush stoking; the thing the Corel does very good. We will do it in Photoshop CS2. Moreover we will try to make some king of sense on our creation.

So... let's do it.

First thing we going to do here is to create 2document: 1000 x 1000px and the other one on the screenshot. We need the square one to create some brushes for further usage in the tutorial.

BUT! You will get a little bit different brushes in the support set (download UBIset_144.abr).

So let's start with making some brushes. I've done this triangle shape with a little bit of half tone brushes that I have. The selection you see is a selection done with a quick mask and a gradient meaning that the selection edge is smooth.

I really think that the zig zag filter will solve some of my problems concerning the too straightened sides.

Define the brush.

Here is my next bush: half painted, half twirled. I also used smooth quick mask to twirl the shape.

The next brush is a basic soft brush with roundness jitter lowered to about 8-10%.

And the closing brush is a brush that I really don't remember how I did it. It was probably done by a lot of warping of the first one.

So here we have our mini set on the bottom of the brush box.

Do the same with the rest of the brushes. Just transform the path each time.

I like to give some glow to this one, so I'm going to use layer styles.

As you can see I'm also switching between the colors each time.

And I think that is it for a quickie design and how to use stroke techniques tutorial. Hope you learned something from it. This is only an example how you can use these techniques.
